J. Craig Venter Institute

The J. Craig Venter Institute (JCVI), an independent, not-for-profit research institute, is dedicated to improving human and environmental health through innovative genomics research. JCVI's mission is to advance the science of genomics; the understanding of its implications for society; and the communication of those results to the scientific community, the public, and policymakers. JCVI's areas of scientific focus include: human genomic medicine; infectious disease; plant, microbial, and environmental genomics, synthetic biology and biological energy, and high throughput DNA sequencing. JCVI provides community resources for science, math, and technology education for students of all ages.
