City of Frederick Department of Economic Development

The City of Frederick is the hub of commerce, culture and government in Frederick County. The 2nd largest city in Maryland, Frederick is home to a diverse industry base, of which bioscience and advanced technology is a strong - and growing - component. The mission of the City's Department of Economic Development (DED) is to increase economic opportunities in the City through job creation, revitalization and reinvestment. DED serves the Frederick business community through site selection services, development review and permitting assistance, networking and educational events, and is the ombudsman for business within in City Hall.
